TRACE & NARRATIVE

From the Greek "hyper,""meaning "beyond,"and "sthenos,"meaning"strength."Named for being harder than amphibole. An iron-magnesium silicate of the pyroxene family.

Found in ancient rock formations in Brazil, Labrador, and Greenland. Present in gabbro and diorite—rocks that originated deep within the Earth's mantle.

The name implies great power, but the mineral itself is understated. No brilliance as a gemstone. Yet rock containing hypersthene is proof that material from the Earth's interior once reached the surface. A quiet witness, without fanfare.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROJECTION

Calm — Clarity — Priority

Speeds up the sorting when the input overwhelms. Anxiety drops; priority surfaces on its own. Best deployed when the signal-to-noise ratio has collapsed and decisions still need making.

SELECTOR'S NOTE

Too much inbound, the processing queue is full. What he needs isn't calm — it's triage. The ability to let priorities surface on their own, without forcing a sequence. I keep this stone near the kind of person who can already organise under pressure. It suits the man who sorts before he speaks.
